On the Trump-Kim Summit…

As is the danger in all near-future fiction, current events has forced the existing narrative into the realm of an alternate timeline.

It’s not too much of a spoiler to say that, should Kim Jong-Un be sincere, and North Korea does de-nuclearize, it would put strain upon a pivotal event in Orphans of the Void and the intervening five years before Bluesalts.

That said, I find myself encouraged.  It shows that, despite all of the warnings, all of the prophesies of doom, all of the hatred of Donald Trump and his methods… Cowboy Diplomacy works.

Of course, there is the possibility that Kim is playing Trump for a fool and has no intention of getting rid of his nuclear weapons.  If so, I believe he will have signed the death warrant for North Korea.  The same applies if the North Korean military does not fall into line with any agreement which may come from this meeting (or its follow-up meetings).

Conversely, I agree with the South Korean President when he says Donald Trump deserves the Novel Peace Prize, should anything positive result from this meeting.  Indeed, the possibility exists that, should Kim follow through on de-nuclearization and goes on to begin the opening of North Korea, he may deserve to share that prize.

Like it or not, Trump is getting results.  And the Left is losing their minds.  Last night’s Tony Awards is an example.  The cheer that the line “F___ Trump received is, to put it bluntly, disgusting, but it is becoming more prevalent from the far left.  Much of the Media are becoming more and more shrill in trying to convince the American people that left is right and right is wrong.  It’s like the second rule of spotting a scam: The more desperately someone tries to convince you that what sounds too good to be true really is true, the more likely that it isn’t true.

Despite what anyone in the Media says, this meeting is a good thing.  After all, they criticized Nixon for going to China, too.
